The Liberation is four punk saboteurs, an independent Washington DC outfit working for societal change. A show with The Liberation is an event of pure energy in the search of unity and justice.

Punk's dead. The Liberation wants to give you something new.

So what do they sound like? Punk-funk with a twist. The Liberation's got grit like the sand you accidently took home in your bathing suit. Like the Violent Femmes' tour bus was totalled by the Morphines' van, and the ghosts decided to play Woody Guthrie covers.

This music is full of life and an in-your-face yearning for peace. Forget what you thought you knew- The Liberation wants to take you to a new world TODAY. Find out why DC music fans are raving about them by visiting the website - http://www.theliberation.org ordering their self-titled debut EP NOW.

What the fans say:

"A unique sound that few bands in DC have" - OnTap Online

"Great CD! Packed with energy liberated by the band in some awesome sounds. Can't wait for the next one to come out!!" - Dave

"This album blew my mind since the first time i heard it as a whole... It's a new sound inspired in rhythms that predate these guys and still manage to sound fresh and heck, liberating. Forget about yoga, this is what you ought to hear if you want to meditate. Chris, the trombone master, reminds me of air (the french band and, yes, air) because of his skills at creating a soothing atmosphere to john henry's straight forward lyrics. Speaking of which, John's vocals are perfect for the sound the liberation delivers: half Johnny Rotten and half birthday party-era Nick Cave, soothed by the effect of his Costa Rican background. From all i care, this cd is simply fantastic, yet it could have been a bit longer. I can't wait for another release by the liberation, in spite of its length, shape, sound or flavour." - Francisco
